20 August 2021

The world witnessed an unprecedented suffering and anxiety due to the widespread of Covid-19 contagion. To recover from this crisis, people need to be strengthened with indomitable strength and support from the entire mankind. One such vulnerable group that needed support are families who lost their bread earners to Covid-19 pandemic.

GMRVF kick started with Umeed Ke Pahiye campaign where hundreds of widows of Covid-19 deceased are being offered push carts that will support them in starting with small businesses and gradually help them cope with the grief and loss they had to go through due to the pandemic. The distribution program was organized after completion of one-month campaign which started in the last week of June'21.

This immediate and purposeful support by GMR's CSR arm - GMR Varalakshmi Foundation (GMRVF) in these turbulent times will help save lives and livelihoods of numerous families. The initiative is not just helping the deprived women but also motivate them to take the charge of their family’s livelihood and recover from the loss caused by the Covid-19.
