From the day of its launch on August 8, the portal has received more than 1,25,000 applications. This includes approx. 45,300 forms for exemption from institutional quarantine and over 78,700 self-declaration forms submitted through this portal.
Further, a green corridor has been set up by DIAL for passengers with digital pre-approved exemption from institutional quarantine. This helps them walk out of the airport safely, avoiding mixing with other passengers and result in time saving as well.
Besides making the passengers journey more convenient and seamless in a contactless way, Air Suvidha is also facilitating Government officials in taking a swift and informed decision on granting exemption or know the latest health condition of the international arriving passenger.
Passengers considered for exemption:
Suffered a death in the family
Suffering from serious illness (Description to be provided)
Parents accompanied by children below 10 years
Covid-19 negative in recent RT-PCR test (96 hours prior to undertaking the journey as per govt. guideline).
Passengers seeking exemption under the five specific categories will need to fill the e-form available on the website of Delhi Airport www.newdelhiairport.in. Supporting documents along with a copy of their passports have to be submitted at least 72 hours before boarding their flights. However, this time capping does not apply on passengers filling Self-Declaration form.
The online forms have been developed in collaboration with the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Ministry of External Affairs and Governments of various states and union territories including Delhi, Uttar Pradesh, Punjab, Rajasthan, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir, Haryana, Uttarakhand, Telangana and Madhya Pradesh.
As India is establishing air bubble with several countries, the number of international arrivals is likely to increase. With this new digital process in place, passengers can exclude the hassle of filling the physical copies of the forms, while authorities are benefiting of completing the requisite formalities faster at the airports.
